In late September 2012, Yemeni capital Sana’a hosted the 28th Sana’a International Book Fair. The fair featured participation from approximately 200 local and Arab publishing houses. This was a major event, the first of its kind since 2009. Sawt Foundation for Development was among the active participants as one of the entities organizing cultural events on its sidelines.
Through its own efforts, Sawt organized two events within the fair’s cultural program. The first was a critical reading and book signing for the novel Behind the Sun by author Bushra Al-Maqtari. The second was a critical reading and book signing for the novel A Pair of Shoes for Aisha by the esteemed author Nabila Al-Zubair.
